Short introduction
Hi! This is me: Sten Oomen, born on a Saturday in December, astrological: Sagittarius, Ascendant: Pisces or Aries Chinese: Fire Lamb, and, did you know that, those born on a Saturday will see...Spirits. As a child I saw friendly 'faces' in my room nobody else saw. Later I started having out-of-body experiences (OBE) which enabled me to communicate with spirits and their world. I have written a book about it also.
Youth
'Those born on a Saturday will see Spirits'.
My father had a cookie jar which, on each side, had a motto for every birthday, and this one was among it. According to my being born on a Saturday I was supposed to see spirits. I didn't realize that as I was little, but when I was about seven years old I experienced my first out-of-body experience when my throat tonsils were removed. I was being narcotized, my consciousness was switched off, but then...returned! I saw the whole operation and afterwards thought nothing special about it. They scooped blood out of my throat. I watched this with a timeless and rather emotionless but still little curious consciousness. After a while the observing stopped and the next moment of being conscious was awakening with a painful throat and my mother giving me a new doll and lots of ice to eat.
For quite some years I didn't experience something alike though I was a sensible child and had a lot of dreams I could remember and I had some strange 'dreams' also...
The first out-of-body experience as an adult
In 1986, at the age of 18, almost
19, I turned in, expecting nothing but a normal night, but I was suddenly
violently pulled out of my body and thrown in spirit in my room and dragged
around. I was terribly frightened and didn't know what hit me. Finally I
could return to my bed and rose in my physical body, quite in shock. For the next nights and weeks I
stepped in bed with a fear something similar would happen again and I was
right! It did happen again, over and over again, and after a few weeks I
noticed I was not fully helpless when out-of-body. I learned moving my
astral body and soon I experienced good out-of-body's too!
Rustlings, singings After some time I started hearing rustlings before and after an OBE and I still do.They start in the left brain and go right, or start in the right brain and go left, sometimes they come from both brain sides (cerebrum), sometimes they go to the little brain (cerebellum). They can occur at different volumes, from very soft, like a train passing in the distance, to very hard, to 'explosion level'. When the volume is like an explosion I really jump the ceiling from alarm. At the moment the OBE comes near, the frequency of the rustlings increases. Sometimes when the rustlings come from as well the left as the right side they 'meet' and this causes a kind of metal sound. This doesn't happen that much. A lot of other OBE experiencing or experienced people report of these sounds too as well as vibrations, forms of warmth, energy, etc..
My findings, and for example Robert Monroe's too (see below), are that in the bridge between the left and the right brain (and there's a link to the small brain too) lies the key, the door to the possibility of OBE's.
Remarkable When I lay on the bed listening fully aware to these sounds, like listening to a radio (!), and I open my eyes, the sounds stop immediately! I have never heard a rustling go on with my eyes open.

Traveller through worlds
Years went by, to shorten a long
story, and I travelled through the world of spirits and various dimensions
and I still do.I have two lifes: a day- and a
nightlife and I try to integrate both lifes as much as I can and I tell
everybody what they want to know about my 'paranormal' experiences. I
believe everyone should speak out freely.While out-of-body you can travel
this earth and beyond and you are NOT alone.Those who passed through our world,
those who guide you through your life (if you would just get acquainted with
your guardian angels, you'll love them!), those who are not from this earth,
those who you can't even describe with words... they do all exist and you
will see or feel them with your astral body and consciousness.I experience a lot of 'being-in-body,
but having an out-of-body consciousness'- things too.
Being still in-body I perceive as if I were out-of-body: experiencing the world of the spirit(s). In my case this only happens at night, and in a much lesser frequency at daytime.While out-of-body your consciousness is altered, other than your normal consciousness.

Why?
You are possibly wondering why this
all happens to me.
Out of body experiences are of all times, they are universal. The old Egyptians lifted the transition/passing away itself and the knowledge of the possibilities after this life to a true artform (mummies, piramides) and more than that: a way of living. From all times stories and reports about out of body experiences reache us. Universal things really don't nead an explanation or a justification. Then you could as well try to explain the existance of day and night, of the sun and the moon, of dreams and...out of body experiences. Then you will come to questions of life and death: does God exist and when did life start?
The general reason, for our time, touches the constant increasing developing spiritual consciousness of people. We search for the true fulfilment of our lifes. We want to find out and be who we really are. After centuries of suppression by the church and other religious institutes, we don't longer want other people to decide what's right and what's wrong, how to live as they subscribe. We don't longer feel intimidated by terrors of Hell and Purgatory, they didn't help us in any aspect. Kindness can and may not depend on the fact if we get rewarded for it. We want to really be free and happy. More and more people realize that the road to this freedom and happiness leads over the path of the spiritual. That's the reason for the big interest in the paranormal and spiritual: we find that in them we can find the true answers. Eventually in being free and happy in a pure way we will find all the others too in unity.
There is an individual reason too.I 'simply' believe it's fate: I believe a (long) time ago I made a 'deal' with the cosmos, that I would be still in contact with my guardian angels and other inhabitants of the astral world during the life I am now living. I'm really attached to my Guardian Angels and other astral friends there and wouldn't miss them for the world! I guess the Cosmos let me have it my way in agreeing that I would go back to 'Learning School' Earth.I see it as my task in this life to contribute to this world's clear consciousness. There is more than what we see, there is a life after this life, we don't have to doubt that there's a good reason and a goal for everything. We just need to learn to see it.Maybe you are or will be in touch with the astral world also. If you really want to, you can enter this world. Make sure though you have the right, pure, motivations.Everybody has one, two or more tasks in life. They are all important in the end. This is one of mine. How do I fulfill my task? By writing a book about all of this.

Robert Monroe
In the library I found my soul
mate Robert Monroe, who wrote a fascinating trilogy about his, in an way,
similar experiences: • Journeys out of the body
• Far journeys • Ultimate Journey .I started reading him, growing
closer to him, and even meeting him years later while...traveling
out-of-body, as he passed away in 1995, returning to realms he did know
very well.I'll give you a link to the
Institute he founded. In this Institute a lot of enthusiastic friends of
Monroe work on exploring and broadening the human consciousness. The
Institute Robert Monroe founded
Finishing and publishing my first book 'THROUGH THE WINDOW'
1997-1998 I finished my first book. It
contains almost everything I know and observed with my astral
consciousness and it's based on over 500 out-of-body experiences. The
world I want to describe is indefinite and trying to get hold of it
isn't easy. But somehow I did, and I am content about the result.It has two parts. Part one
contains a guide through the worlds of spirits, part two contains a
representative chronological account of my experiences.
The dutch title of my book is 'DOOR HET RAAM - ervaringen met uittredingen' ('THROUGH THE WINDOW - out of body experiences'). THROUGH THE WINDOW refers to the actual going through my window during out-of-body's, as spirits have the ability to go through walls, windows etc. It has a figurative meaning also: going through the window to another world, through the opening, the ruptures into other dimensions.
The dutch title of my book is 'DOOR HET RAAM - ervaringen met uittredingen' ('THROUGH THE WINDOW - out of body experiences'). THROUGH THE WINDOW refers to the actual going through my window during out-of-body's, as spirits have the ability to go through walls, windows etc. It has a figurative meaning also: going through the window to another world, through the opening, the ruptures into other dimensions.
In the meantime I've built up a lot of new experiences which have landed in another book: 'THROUGH THE GATE - experiences with astral eroticsm'.
Guardian Angels and Guides
Everyone has one, two or more
Guardian Angels or Guides.
A Guardian Angel is, in my definition and that of others, someone who hasn't or just shortly lived on this Earth as a human being.
A Guide is someone who, according regular definitions of it, has lived on this Earth as a human being. He or she could be a far family member of yours or a very 'old' friend from another earthly life. Both Guardian Angels and Guides do about the same thing: Being There for humans, even when some don't (yet) realize this.
While having out-of-body experiences I meet these wonderful, selfless creatures and they always give me support, advice, and most of all: love. Without their support I would have never made it! Guardian Angels and Guides can give you advice, they caress your head when you're tired, they chase away thunderclouds hanging around you, they seem to know and understand everything, they will lead you to the right people, animals, etc., they will protect you during your earthly and astral 'adventures' and more...Why they are there? That is the Infinite Love and Providence of the Cosmos who thinks that it is quite something to live on Earth and therefore made some 'playing rules'. For example the playing rule that everybody has at least one 'Play Attendant' on the road through the complicated 'game' that is called Life on Earth.I have earthly Guardian Angels too.They do likewise lovable things, but then as one true human being towards another.

Message of Love
There is a message of Love
coming from the Light Spirits who live in other dimensions. But there is
a lot of adventure too: remember that the spiritual world knows two
sides: dark and light. To see this is a harmonious light though is very
enlightening.
